putting on my thinking cap-slightly tight today
Is it me or is it just plain ol’ difficult to recreate a situation that worked for you in the past for current moments? Please be advised that this is work related at the moment, but it may most certainly be applied to real life situations.
It’s like I rocked this project a few months ago, I mean ultra rocked it. I was on my magical accounting chariot of fire and laying it out like...
FYI-Change is good, it's necessary
I have changed my name here as well as my tag line. I do feel like I am here for a purpose. I want to get you thinking, to get you amped and motivated, to know that you will fulfill the greatest of accomplishments you set yourself out to do.
I decided to be a little more forthright with what I’m sending out there. I have been philosophizing a whole lot more and more thanks to the...

Everything will be okay in the end. If it’s not okay, it’s not the end.

man do my eyes burn!! *no i don't smoke anything...
nooo it’s not from the salt in my sweat that dripped during bootcamp… I’ve been exhausted the past few days, I guess my stress mechanism has evolved from stomach inflation to eye irritation.. I guess I can live w/ that. Well in honor of my “gains” I have decided to gift myself a sports massage at a local massage/spa that I will later review because I do things like...
Apple cinnamon oatmeal w Daddy
Daddy: (nom nom nom)
Me: do you like it?
Daddy: eh
Me: what do you mean eh?
Daddy: the flavors are wonderful but the oats are a little crunchy
(al dente steel cut isn't his thing apparently)
Me: guess we're going with rolled oats for you sir!
(he ate his whole plate which leads me to believe he likes to complain for nothing)
5 mins after he finished
Daddy: I'm full
Me: at least you didn't eat crap to get you there
Daddy: heh heh, yes this is true
Me: well I like cooking non crap for you
Daddy: (smiling) thanks!

Every year, about this time, I go through this period of weirdness - it’s not really depression, although I call it the “dark period.” It’s a time when nothing’s really wrong -I’m just not at ease with myself…
So I write tonight for therapeutic purposes, a concerted effort to get rid of at least…

Dilemma-cyclist edition
Mountain Bike or Road Bike? I’m unsure which one I should get but I’m going to probably lean towards the road bike since I want to gain distance…although I may want to buy a used mountain bike for the fun summer trips….decisions decisions.
be advised, I already have a hybrid and it’s a lot of fun, I do want to have all 3 at one point…maybe I’m a cycling...
Be Bold, Be Daring
Do something you don’t usually do. That seems to be the ongoing trend I’ve been reading lately. The only thing is that with time constraints being as they are I can’t get as creative as I’d like. I’m not going to be jump off a cliff crazy, *at least not yet because I would prefer to do that in Mexico where cliff diving is a passtime*. Maybe I can work on some...
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.
– Lao-tzu, The Way of Lao-tzu
Chinese philosopher (604 BC - 531 BC)
I seriously believe that by taking steps, over time you’ll see the true leaps and bounds you’ve crossed to get to the top. All it takes is that first foot forward and no steps back, not even for momentum.

Ok guys so here it is. I have what I feel is an excess of energy that needs to be in motion either a better part of the day or intensely for a couple of hours or I get extremely irritable. *due to the nature of my work, I choose the 2nd option.* Unfortunately for 2 days I have not done my exercise as I should. *I’m kinda adapting to this yoga thing, thanks Netflix for the videos*. So now...
Mark Bittman: A Food Manifesto for the Future →
jayparkinsonmd:
Here are some ideas — frequently discussed, but sadly not yet implemented — that would make the growing, preparation and consumption of food healthier, saner, more productive, less damaging and more enduring. In no particular order:
End government subsidies to processed food.
Begin subsidies to those who produce and sell actual food for direct consumption.
Break up the U.S....
